20,000 FLIGHT HOURS FOR S-76D

Helis, August 06, 2020 - Thai Aviation Services(TAS) has accumulated 20,000 flight hours on its Sikorsky S-76D helicopter fleet.

TAS received five S-76D helicopters between late 2016 and early 2017 to support oil and gas customers in the Gulf of Thailand. The company also operates two Sikorsky S-92 helicopters and an older S-76C++

The latest version in the S-76 series, the S-76D features Pratt & Whitney Canada PW210S engines, new main rotor blades, and a Thales TopDeck avionics suite and autopilot, among other upgrades.

Since 1977, nearly 900 S-76 of all variants have been delivered world-wide with the Offshore mission accounting for 65 percent of the total flight hours accumulated fleet-wide to date.

Thai Aviation Services Ltd (TAS) is a privately-owned Air Operator Certificate holder registered in Thailand. For the past three decades, TAS has been playing a significant role as an air operator providing helicopter service for offshore operations to the oil and gas producing companies throughout the region. TAS currently operates eight Sikorsky aircraft in its fleet, and has over 70 pilots and 60 aircraft engineers along with other professional and experienced management personnel.

TAS operated only Sikorsky models for offshore transport for the last 30 years beginning with the S-61N and was named as Sikorsky’s first Customer Support Center in Thailand in 2018.
